The Fleetwood
Girls Softball Association (FGSA) is established as a non-profit (EID #23-3076600), unincorporated
organization to promote softball in the Fleetwood area and beyond.
Our primary purpose is to provide and organize a medium in which our youth are
taught sportsmanship, teamwork and softball fundamentals. It is the intention
of the FGSA to provide the best instruction possible to prepare players who may
continue in the middle school and high school playing levels. FGSA will strive
to work with the school district coaching staffs to insure as much consistency
as possible between the programs.
Our secondary purpose is to teach the principles, rules and techniques of
the game of softball, to develop a program which will encourage and improve
physical fitness. To instill a feeling of pride in our youth for doing the best
that they can do, regardless of whether they win or lose.
Our programs support ages from 5 to 18 years old, with teams playing in the Berks County Girls Softball League (BCGSL) at 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 18U. Those teams also often take part in various tournaments in the Berks County area.
Further, FGSA supports one 18U-Travel team (known as "Tigers 18U") comprised of girls from Fleetwood along with other talented young ladies from throughout the Berks County area who have demonstrated a desire for elite competition.
